The conflict against Abi-hime and her flock of blood-sucking bird youkai continues. This time, it's Kohaku joining the frey, as the castle he's been staying and working is attacked by the Bird Princess. Sango and the others follow Abi-hime and the birds to the castle. There they encounter the villagers in the midst of battle, along with Kohaku. And now things are about to get worse...

Although originally ordered to the castle in order to protect Naraku's baby, once the castle is attacked by the birds, Kohaku is then ordered by Naraku to slaughter the people of the castle and take the baby elsewhere...

Princess Abi and her mother discuss about how getting involved in a conflict between the two half-demons has only brought them trouble. The mother advises Abi and the birds to attack a seemingly suspicious castle as a test to see if Naraku is hiding something. It's the very location where Naraku's baby (his heart and weak spot)has been placed which also has Kohaku and Kanna standing guard. Kagura is ordered by Hakudoshi to eavesdrop on Abi but not to attack.

Inuyasha and gang rush to the castle to fight against Princess Abi and protect the innocent; scenes switch from them to Kohaku protecting the noblewoman and her false heir. Sango soars over the grounds on Kirara searching for her brother as Naraku cruelly orders Kohaku to take the baby to safety and kill the group of people whom he was starting to grow fond of.

Abi-Hime grows more suspicious of Naraku. Sheís had nothing but trouble since they struck their deal and Abi-Hime wants out of the bargain. Abi-Himeís mother suggests they strike at Narakuís weakness. She knows heís hiding something important to him at a nearby castle. Abi-Hime musters the flock and launches an attack on the palace. At the castle, the new baby receives tender attention from the court ladies. However, his ďmotherĒ, the Lady of the manor, is still dazed, confused and uncertain the child is really hers. Flashes of horrible events haunt her, and awful visions of his birth refuse to leave her head. The Lady spots a familiar face from her nightmare on the palace grounds - Kohaku. The Lady stops the boy to question him, but Kohakuís new friend, the old man, provides an alibi - the boy arrived after the infantís birth. Kohaku is not the only new face in the vicinity of the castle. Inu-Yasha and the team have arrived in the town near the palace. Miroku questions the locals all day about the demon birds without success. Since itís late, the group decides to stay the night in town before continuing their search. At a remote mountain hideout, Kagura ponders a way to rid herself of Hakudoshi and Naraku. She watches as Abi-Hime passes by leading her flock. Evil little Hakudoshi interrupts Kaguraís musings by dispatching her to follow and spy on Abi-Hime. Tagging behind the advancing horde, Kagura watches as Abi-Hime orders her birds to destroy Narakuís Saimyoushou: by doing so Abi-Hime proves sheís no ally of Naraku. Back at the castle and town, Kohaku and Sango spend a restless night. Kohaku has nightmares and, waking, confides to his elderly friend heís lost his family. The old fellow reassures Kohaku and tells him that everyone who lives at the castle is like a family - heís part of them now. Meanwhile Sango has poignant memories of Kohaku and the annihilation of their kin. Before either sibling has time to fully explore their feelings Abi-Hime attacks with her brood-thirsty birds. Kohakuís exterminator training takes over as he cuts down the demons with chain and scythe. While battling the vicious creatures, Naraku calls to him, ordering him to protect the baby. Inu-Yasha and the team also rush to the castleís defense. Enroute, Kagome senses the presence of a single Shikon shard: Kohaku must be the castle! Sango fears Kohaku may be under Narakuís spell, complicating the situation. Sensing her concern, Inu-Yasha tells Sango to search for Kohaku when they reach the castle - heíll take care Abi-Hime and the birds. Inu-Yasha hasnít long to wait for Abi-Himeís assault: she arrives with questions as well as a desire to fight. Abi-Hime asks Inu-Yasha why heís protecting a castle special to Naraku when heís supposed to be Narakuís enemy. Her accusation is a surprise for Inu-Yasha and the others, as is Abi-Himeís admission she isnít partnered with Naraku. When Inu-Yasha tells Abi-Hime they intend to be the ones to destroy Naraku, Abi-Himeís temper flares - her ego wonít allow any more orders from a mere half-breed - and she lashes out at Inu-Yasha with Narakuís 3-pronged halberd. Above them, Kagura floats on her feather, keenly watching the fight. Inu-Yasha and Abi-Hime clash, Miroku, Kagome, Sango and the castle guards hack away at the demon birds. Kohaku successfully makes his way to the Ladyís chambers to rescue her and the baby. He leads them to safety through the inferno of the burning castle and an onslaught of ferocious demon birds. During the skirmish, one of the palace guards remarks that Kohaku fights like a demon exterminator. His comment resonates with the boy stirring up memories from his past, and Kohaku starts to remember who he was. As the castle falls and Kohaku begins to regain his memory, Naraku continues asserting his evil control over the boy. He beckons with chilling orders for Kohaku - kill those around him and take the baby.

Abi decides to attack the human castle that Naruku's baby is at to see what connection it has to Naruku. So she sends all her birds there for a huge attack. Also stayin at this human castle is kohaku but he is helping the villagers out doing chores for them and whatnot. when the birds come to attack he hears a voice in his head, Naruku, telling him to protect the baby. so Kohaku uses his skill and starts to slash his way to the baby. Around that time Inuyasha and company enter the castle and Inuyasha and Abi starting doing battle. Kagome senses a jewel shard, Kohaku, and Sango goes forward in the direction on Kohaku while everyone fights. Kohaku then finds the baby and saves him and the princess and they leave the one building out into the open where they are being protected by a bunch of people including Kohaku. Right at the end his jewel pulsates telling him to kill the people around him and it ends there.

Abi-Hime decided to attack a certain village since Naraku was trying to by pass it when his youkai attacks. Inuyasha and the gang goes there as well since people are trying to go there for safety. At night, Abi-hime and her bird youkai attacks. Naraku orders Kohaku to protect the baby of the Lady. The villagers are amazed to Kohaku's fighting skills. Inuyasha also saw the birds coming and join the fun. Kagome senses Kohaku's presence. Sango decided to go for him.
