Inuyasha FAQ

Question:Why doesn't Inu Yasha turn full demon in first few episodes? He doesn't have Tetsaiga.

Answer:

  • Kinda complicated explaination, but I'll try anyway ^-^. Initially it wasn't the Tetsaiga's presence, but its very existence that kept Inuyasha's demon blood under control, and only its destruction would allow him to become a full demon. However, after Tetsaiga is broken and he DOES change form, he has his first taste of actually being a demon and killing for pleasure. This sufficiently weakened the binding power of the Tetsaiga to the point where merely being separated from it while enraged is enough to change him to demonic form. Hope that helps! ^-^

  • Because at that time, his demon blood was asleep. It awakened for the first time because he was VERY CLOSE to DEATH. This happened against Goshinki, the incarnation of Naraku that broke the Tetsusaiga. After that, because his demon blood was awake, it could take over, making him transform.

  • Probably because his life was not being threatened....cause as u know he only transforms when he is conred and is fighting for his life w/ out the Tetsaiga
