- There are 2 versions of the manga, the first edition and the 2nd edition. They have different covers but they are mostly the same on the inside.

- The change in the volume design was a business decision on Viz's part. They realized they were losing market share to TokyoPop,who were releasing more titles more often. Viz realized they were losing out to TokyoPop's strategy as they started to take the North American market. TokyoPop offered only graphic novels which brought the manga to the fans faster and the public took to it. Viz wanted to keep profitting on the 'comic book' release of two chapters each month. This brought out a graphic novel every 5 1/2 to 6 months. They started the smaller format as it was cheaper for them (and us) and gave what the public wanted. Even with the faster pace, IY novel #35 won't come out for another 4 3/4 years (four each year).
